Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov reaffirmed his hope that relations between the United States and Russia can improve under the Trump Administration, despite recent setbacks. “Well, the relations are very difficult and at a very low point, which is the legacy of the [Barack] Obama administration,” Lavrov told the Russian news agency TASS. In his discussions with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, the diplomat said he remains convinced that the US wants to have positive relations with Russia, in order to solve a number of “important, acute world problems.”
